Sheet Absorbers
Cuming Microwave manufactures a complete line of flat sheet absorbers
(320-1) C-RAM LF product line comes in a variety of thicknesses to cover a broad range of frequencies. LF is most often used for specular attenuation. Typically the thicker the grade of LF the lower in frequency it works and the more broadbanded it is. LF is gradient loaded with the lightest loading layer at the front and the highest loading layer at the back.

LF is used as a free space absorber in most applications. LF is useful to reduce specular reflections in anechoic chambers, modify antenna patterns, or wherever a broadband absorber is needed. This material system can also be ordered weather wrapped or sprayed with a weatherproof coating. Flame retardant versions of LF are also available and meet UL94 HBF flame spread requirements.
(320-3) C-RAM AR product line comes in a variety of thicknesses to cover a broad range of frequencies. It has a more open cell structure than LF and can be used outdoors as its naturally open cellular foam allows water to easily drain out. AR uses a gradient loading like LF but is comprised of one layer of foam that during manufacture the lossy coating is allowed to drain top to bottom providing a natural gradient. AR is useful in point to point antennas to reduce sidelobes.
(320-2) C-RAM MT is a series of flat sheet materials designed to provide specific insertion loss. A variety of thicknesses can be ordered. MT can also be ordered in a flame retardant version. MT can be used for suppression applications, modify antenna patterns, as a bulk absorber, or can be stacked for use in cavity backed spiral antennas.
(310-1) C-RAM FLX is a series of tuned rubber sheet absorbers specifically designed to absorb at discrete frequencies. Sheets can be ordered from 800 MHz to 93 GHz. FLX is loaded with a magnetic filler that allows the material to be very thin relative to wavelength. FLX is rated for -20 dB of attenuation at its design frequency with a nominal bandwidth of 10%.
