C-PRIME 215
SILICONE PRIMER FOR BONDING SILICONE SHEETS TO SUBSTRATES
C-PRIME 215 is a solvent based silicone containing compound, used to promote the adhesion of RTV silicone adhesives to a variety of substrates including metal and many plastics.
Cuming Microwave supplies C-PRIME 215 to be used with its C-BOND 255 silicone adhesive to bond silicone rubber sheets (such as C-RAM FLX, GDSS, FDSS, RGDS, and FF-2) to substrates to which a silicone adhesive normally would not adhere well

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
All surfaces to be bonded should first be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent such as naphtha or methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) to remove dirt, oil and grease. When practical, surfaces should be wiped dry before application of the primer coating.
C-PRIME 215 may be applied by brushing, wiping, or dipping. A thin uniform coat of approximately 0.01 to 0.02mm (0.5 mils) thickness usually provides the strongest bond. A drying time of 1 hour at room temperature is recommended prior to application of the RTV silicone. On porous surfaces, a second coat may be needed. Allow at least one hour between coats.
Sufficient humidity must be available for
proper drying; 50% relative humidity is recommended. Formation of a chalky white haze indicates adequate drying. Do not remove or contaminate this film prior to application of the RTV silicone.
AVAILABILITY
C-PRIME 215 is available in pint (0.95 I) and gallon (3.78 l) containers. It requires a DOT Combustible label for shipment.
Coverage will vary, but one pint covers about 5m2 (50 ft2).
